Curated by our Picture Desk, we catch you up on the news and stories from across the globe. From uncovering stunning creative images, diving deep into the major news stories to the moments to remember from the sporting world.

This week protesters in favour of passing the new abortion bill in Buenos Aires erupted into celebration as the approved bill was announced. This sees Argentina join Cuba and Uruguay as the only Latin American countries where abortion is legal.

Elsewhere, rallies were held for the resignation of Armenia’s Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, and the march for social rights and freedom in the French capital was marked by strong tensions as the announcement of rewriting of Article 24 did not satisfy many unions and associations.

Across the globe, Christmas is looking very different for many this year with the current restrictions on travel and movement. From the flooding Christmas markets of Manila to the deserted Rockafella centre in New York, this year’s celebrations are noticeably on pause.

It’s not all doom and gloom though, with Leipzig’s 3-2 win against Manchester United in this week’s UEFA Champions League alongside Manchester City’s triumph in their match against Marseille.
